YouTube has been planning the launch of new features to their Nonprofit Program and announced that members of the program now have the opportunity to stream their content live. They will be able to engage live audiences in charity concerts, conferences, and other special events to raise awareness about their causes and drive donations in real-time.
YouTube has previously experimented with providing live stream for nonprofit organizations, including a play by the American Foundation for Equal Rights and a symposium by the ONE Campaign and RED on World AIDS Day.
Currently, the YouTube Nonprofit Program is open to registered organizations in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada. Organizations who are already members can enable live-streaming through their accounts.
