The ArcelorMittal Foundation and Ashoka have signed a partnership to support youth entrepreneurship in Canada, Mexico, South Africa, and the US. Under this partnership, the ArcelorMittal Foundation will support Ashoka’s Youth Venture program which encourages youth to start and lead sustainable social ventures.
Youth Venture was created to support a global movement of young changemakers. The program provides participants with financing support and resources to scale-up their initiatives, while building fundamental leadership skills such as emotional intelligence and empathy.
ArcelorMittal employees will have the opportunity to be involved with this program through coaching, sharing their expertise, and appraising entrepreneurial plans. ArcelorMittal is the world’s leading steel and mining company, with a presence in more than 60 countries. Currently operating in 30 countries, the ArcelorMittal Foundation has been promoting entrepreneurship in areas of education, health, and community development since 2007. The non-profit organization is focused on developing projects that benefit communities.
The partnership follows the success of the collaboration between the two organizations in Argentina in 2007.
