The School of Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) and Lloyds Banking Group have joined forces to launch a new program called Lloyds Banking Group Social Entrepreneurs. The program will support the growth of 500 organizations across the UK over the next five years.
This comes as no surprise as it was found that social enterprises have a 20% higher survival rate than a traditional business.
Set to launch in April 2012, 100 social entrepreneurs each year will receive support from the SSE through their learning programs and grants ranging from £4,000 to £25,000.
The program is expected to benefit over 800,000 people and generate up to 2,500 jobs.
“This programme will leave a powerful legacy in communities across the UK. SSE’s track record made them a partner of choice and we are incredibly proud to be able to support them in this way,” said Paul Turner, Lloyds Banking Group Community and Sustainable Business Director.
The program is made possible with a donation from Lloyds Banking Group to SSE .
